  • ↓ Level 2: I work in Vientiane.

  • ↓ Level 3: I work in Vientiane every day.

  • ↓ Level 4: I work in Vientiane every day because I enjoy my job.

📌 Your Turn: Start with: “I usually…” Expand your sentence to Level 4.

  • Level 2: I usually __________ __________.

  • Level 3: I usually __________ __________ __________.

  • Level 4: I usually __________ __________ __________ because __________.

5. Pattern Evolution

  • Yesterday: I worked.

  • Today: I work.

  • Habit: I work every day.

  • Natural English: I work every day because I enjoy helping people.

6. Natural English

Instead of:

  • I work.
  • I study.
  • I exercise.

Native speakers often connect: “I work during the day, and I usually study English in the evening.”

🎧 Listening Tip:

Listen for small connecting words (and, but, because, so).  These words make English sound smooth and natural.

8. Real Conversation

Situation 1:

A: What do you do?

B: I work in a bank, and I usually study English after work.

Situation 2:

A: What’s your daily routine?

B: I usually get up at six, work during the day, and exercise in the evening.

(Read both conversations aloud three times.) (ອ່ານທັງສອງບົດສົນທະນາອອກສຽງດັງໆ 3 ຮອບ)

9. Speaking Challenge

🎤 Speak for one minute.  Describe your typical day:

  • where you work/study
  • your routine
  • something you usually do
  • something you often do

✅ Connect your ideas.

❌ Don’t stop after one sentence.

10. Pattern Reflection

[ ] Can I describe my daily routine?

[ ] Can I use usually and often naturally?

[ ] Do I understand the difference between worked and work?

[ ] Can I speak for one minute without translating?

🌱 Key Lesson Insight

English becomes much easier when you understand time patterns. Yesterday, today, and tomorrow are not three separate systems. They use almost the same sentence pattern—you mainly change the verb and the time expression. Master this idea, and speaking English becomes much more natural.
